
Jovelle Balani is a Filipino-Canadian singer, songwriter, and performing artist. With her soulful voice and unique style, she has been carving a name for herself in the local and international music scene. She draws inspiration from Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, and Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox to name a few.
In 2020 and 2022, she represented Canada at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California. She bagged medals for several categories and made it as a Finalist. In 2023, she opened for award-winning Filipino artists such as Moira Dela Torre, Jaya, Jay R, Michael Pangilinan, and Zack Tabudlo.
She has also recently performed at some of the biggest festivals in the city: the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival and the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival. She is currently taking part in Creative Manitoba's Professional Mentorship Program, where she explores jazz and music business with the help of her mentor, Nadia Douglas.
